What is Raw Food Diaries All About?

Have you heard of the Raw Food diet, or Whole Foods?  Originally, this blog was designed to follow my journey on the path to become a Raw Foodist.  However, as with many well-laid plans, my journey has been derailed somewhat.  Recent medical diagnoses have meant that a solely Raw Food diet is not possible.  Regardless, we are still maintaining a focus on whole, natural, unprocessed food and limiting or entirely removing gluten, dairy, eggs and refined sugar.

I have dubbed this new regime the Rawleotype diet, which you can read more about here.  This is the journey that I am currently on, and what my blog is about.

I will be documenting my journey:

If you are on an unusual dietary journey, my hope is that you will find the content of these pages useful, helpful and informative.  They may even prevent you from making the same mistakes!

Who Am I?

My name is Paula, and I am a single woman in her early 30’s based in Queensland, Australia.  My ‘children’ have four legs and fur and go by the names Pippin and Chica.  I work full time in the Employment Services industry, and also am the part-time carer for my mother, who lives with me.

I have never worried too much about my health, believing that I ate a reasonably healthy diet; no smoking, rarely drinking or eating fast food.

However, I came to the realisation that I am overweight and definitely unhealthy.  My lifestyle is very sedentary, and exercise is something I’ve never been able to maintain.

So I made the decision to make a Lifestyle change.  Not to ‘go on a diet’ – I’ve never joined a program or gone onto one of the numerous diets that make the rounds.  This is going to be a core change in the way I eat and think about food.  It’s not going to be easy, by I am determined to make this work.  I’ll let you know how I go!
